nyctaper has a recording from the Rubblebucket show we posted about yesterday. Carly and Nick did some great work capturing the energy of the show and now I can hear it for myself. Thanks, nyctaper!
Maybe it shouldn’t be a novelty that Rubblebucket are distinguished by their virtuosity on their instruments – lead singer Kalmia Triver does double duty on sax, even – but that has been enough to get them included in another faux genre, “yes wave”. I think I’ll pass on the genre name, but whatever you want to call their sound, Rubblebucket is a band you shouldn’t miss live.
I recorded this set with Schoeps MK41 microphones from our usual spot in the balcony, for a flawless capture of the night. Enjoy!
The Daily Swarm is reporting that Metallica will be anchoring a two-day music festival in Atlantic City on June 22nd and 23rd; many more bands will be joining them. This puts those Phish rumors on better standing that the real weekend the band will be doing two nights is the weekend before this Metallica festival. The announcement is coming any minute now.
Dr. Dog has a new album out today called Be The Void. The band plays Solana Beach tonight and works their way around the US over the next couple months to promote the release…
The daily lineup for the AURA Festival (set for March 9th-11th in St. Cloud, FL) has been released.
Word on the street is that Lana Del Rey has postponed her upcoming tour. If you missed her Letterman performance, check it out here. I think this is best for her.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes are releasing a new album this May right ahead of their performance at this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival. The band is doing some dates in March and we’d expect plenty more to get announced soon.
Zach Deputy is going on the road soon with a full band.
