It’s another cold (and windy) weekend here in Chi-town, so what better way to spend the time than to sip on a beverage and whip up a bunch of ‘heady links’ for all ya’ll. I thought I’d mention a few album items from this past week…
After a bunch of tracks from Wilco’s upcoming album, Sky Blue Sky, were leaked this past week, it looks like the band is going with a “can’t beat ’em, join ’em” approach. The band’s site will be hosting a “semi-secret” album listening party, tonight at 10 PM CT, apparently going into the “wee hours.” Sky Blue Sky will be released on May 15th (tracklisting here).
The new White Stripes album has apparently been recorded and mixed and is called, get this: Icky Thump [WhiteStripes.com and stereogum]
Two-thirds of MMW, John Medeski and Billy Martin, are teaming up for an album of dutes called, called MAGO, due out sometime in May. [Jambase]
New Ryan Adams album, Easy Tiger, out on June 5th [BrooklynVegan]
Xavier Rudd will release his new album, White Moth, on June 19th. [Jambase]
