The festival announcements and add-ons just keep piling up here at LMB, so you know what that means….another round of festie Heady Links for that ass:
Yet another new festival joins the 2008 Season? The 80/35 festival (apparently named for the cross-section of interstate routes in Iowa) will launch this July 4-5 at Western Gateway Park in Des Moines. The lineup so far includes: the Flaming Lips, The Roots, Yonder Mountain String Band, Girl Talk, Drive-By Truckers, and a bunch of local Iowa bands. Can someone say “festival overkill?” Of course, it’s in Iowa, so they have that going for them.
The Mile Music High Festival made some solid additions to its lineup, including: Mike Gordon, The Whigs, the Hill Country Revue and Stephen Kellogg
We already know that Widespread Panic will close out Bonnaroo, but the festival behemoth has also made a few other additions as of late: Les Claypool, Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na, Superdrag, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Adele, Grand Ole Party and The Postelles, Cornmeal, Dead Confederate, Jake Shimabukuro, The Afromotive, Howlin Rain, Mike Farris featuring Roseland Rhythm Revue, Phonograph, Rotary Downs, The Big Sleep The Duhks, The Greencards and The Weather Underground.
Bumbershoot adds: Xavier Rudd, Anti-Flag, Ian Moore, Scary Kids Scaring Kids and Brother Ali.
Pitchfork Fest adds: Spoon, Les Savy Fav, Dodos
The inaugural Rothbury Fest has made some decent additions: Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Boombox, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, Ingrid Michaelson, Perpetual Groove, Sam Beam of Iron and Wine, and Steel Pulse
The High Sierra Music Festival adds onto its 2008 lineup with: Buckethead, Keller Williams with Moseley, Droll & Sipe, Buckethead, Benevento/Russo Duo (plus Bustle In Your Hedgerow), EOTO, Chicago Afrobeat Project, and SambaDa
We miss anything?
