The 10,000 Lakes Festival has added artists and slotted their late-night shows, including after-hours sets by George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Deep Banana Blackout and Lotus.
The All Good Festival has added some new artists (Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, JJ Grey & MOFRO, Lettuce) and announced their “Thursday Night All Good Pre-Party” featuring The JOIN (with Shearer & Shields of the NEW DEAL and Benevento & Russo), Brazilian Girls, and Perpetual Groove.
The Asheville Music Jamboree — set for May 23-25th at the Deerfields Amphitheatre in Asheville, NC — has set up a pretty decent lineup for a small-city fest, including: Bela Fleck, Gov’t Mule, Keller & The Keels, Burning Spear, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, The Lee Boys, Jason Isbell, RAQ and more.
The Forecastle Festival announced its lineup, which I’d say is definitely in the running for “most random festival lineup of 2008.” The event is slated for July 25 – 27 at the Riverfront Belvedere in Louisville, KY, and headliners include Method Man, Dr. Dog, Tortoise, Disco Biscuits, Del McCoury Band, and Ekoostic Hookah.
The Pitchfork Music Festival has finalized its 2008 lineup with some solid additions including: Bon Iver, Caribou, the Hold Steady, and Sebadoh (who will join the Don’t Look Back series to do their 1993 album Bubble and Scrape in its entirety).
Speaking of Pitchfork, we just couldn’t pass up their post on the Disco Biscuits’ Camp Bisco festival, which shows their utter disdain for the Trance-Fusion boys from Philly, yet recognizes that tDB have pulled together a pretty stellar lineup of non-jammy acts like !!!, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, MSTRKRFT, Eliot Lipp, Amplive and, of course, Snoop Dogg.
The Newport Folk festival is back with some interesting choices: Black Crowes, Calexico, Cat Power, Jim James, Jakob Dylan, Jimmy Buffett Levon Helm, She & Him, Gillian Welch, Stephen & Damian Marley, Kaki King, and the Felice Brothers, among others.
The Voodoo Music Experience will be held October 24-26 at New Orleans’ City Park, and they’ve quietly announced their big headliners: R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots.
Well, that’s a pretty long list, but I am sure there are plenty more in this here season of 2008 festival glut! What else is going on in festival land?
