The first ever Harvest Moon daytime benefit concert has been announced for this upcoming Saturday, September 14th.
Set to take place at the Painted Turtle camp in Lake Hughes, CA which is an hour away from Los Angeles, the event will feature music from Father John Misty, Norah Jones, and Neil Young on a grassy hillside with unobstructed views of the performers, mountains, and a beautiful lake nestled near the Los Angeles National Forest.
They’re also saying that ticket quantities will be quite limited in order to provide an intimate experience, all proceeds for the event will go to The Painted Turtle and The Bridge School.
Marimba ensemble Masanga will be there playing as attendees arrive, followed by musical performances by Father John Misty, Norah Jones, and Neil Young, with the event winding down at sundown.
Loved this little tidbid in the press release, too.
Shortly after the date for the event was selected and Neil Young agreed to perform, organizers realized that September 14 was the day of the night of the Harvest Moon, which enhances the specialness of the occasion.
Included with each ticket is an all-star celebrity chef picnic cooked and served by Southern California’s top chefs, and a beer and wine tasting from select California Breweries and Wineries. A limited number of “Sponsor Packages” will be made available, which include a Saturday, September 14th overnight cabin and camping experience, chef designed gourmet dinner, campfire performance by Lisa Loeb, and Sunday, September 15 brunch and camp activities.
