The Grateful Dead gang has been working with Nugs.tv for weekly Saturday night webcasts called One More Saturday Night featuring archival shows from the recent Dead & Company tours over the past few years, but like all Deadheads, fans were clamoring for more.
It looks like we’ll finally start to see some deeper viewings from the Grateful Dead show archives with the announcement of the Shakedown Stream parties that will start this Friday, April 10th. Featuring a live screening of the classic TRUCKIN’ UP TO BUFFALO 7/4/89 as the first episode, the band’s archivist David Lemieux and historian Gary Lambert will do a live Q&A at 5pm PT before the concert starts.
And they’re promising more and told fans to “tune in each Friday for more shows accompanied by a live Q&As with members of the Dead community.” They say that they “never know who might turn up,” but if I was a betting man, I’d put some dough down that it clearly means we’ll see Bill Walton as one of the first guests! Easy money.
Head over to the band’s YouTube channel this Friday for the event.
