Tomorrow night is the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards and there’s a ton of anticipation building for all the spontaneous contrived appearances already announced for the show. A ton of random stuff has already been announced, like for instance, maybe you saw that Daft Punk is finally going to make a live appearance and they’ll be joined by Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, and Pharrell Williams. They’re also reportedly going to wear Star Wars storm trooper helmets during the show. !!!! #NerdAlert
The disco collective will run through a medley of songs that include snippets of Wonder’s “I Wish,” Chic’s “Le Freak” and, of course, the megahit “Get Lucky.” Also planned is a segue to Daft Punk’s “Lose Yourself to Dance.”
It’s now news that Madonna will be guesting with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis when they make their appearance to perform the song “Same Love”.
Finally, Dave Grohl is closing the show by fronting a supergroup with members of Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, and Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. Okay then. So you’ve got all of that, plus Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr doing something together, Jay Z and Beyonce doing something together, Lorde, Metallica, and so much more, basically making the “Should I tune in tomorrow?” decision a no-brainer. We’ll be watching and blogging along with the show as it happens live and even if you’ve got a discerning critical highbrow on the mainstream music of today, there will bound to be a few fun moments to see on TV. We can’t wait.
