The other day I caught wind that The Flaming Lips designed some new merch for COVID-19 imagining what a Lips concert may look like in 2019 vs. how it may be looking in 2020 post coronavirus outbreak.
Quite silly, and honestly something I thought as a passing meme of the “well that’s hilarious!” variety. Last night on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, they actually brought the concept to life. Haha wow!
The band delivered “Race for a Prize” off their seminal LP, The Soft Bulletin, socially distanced on stage in their own bubbles and with an audience full of people in their own safety bubbles. Incredible.
