At the close of Dead & Company’s summer 2019 tour, the band took to the screens at the Folsom Field show to announce that they’d be returning for Playing in the Sand 2020, set for January 16-19, 2020 at Riviera Cancún in Mexico.
Yesterday the band released some official details about the event, which you can view if you head over the official Playing in the Sand site for the latest and greatest.
The biggest change is the destination, as this event is moving to the Moon Palace resorts similar to the Phish Riviera Maya event also hosted by CID. This move allows ALL the fans to stay at one resort, a huge improvement over the previous events.
We know of course that Dead & Company will be Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart from the original lineup of the Grateful Dead featuring Jeff Chimenti, John Mayer and Oteil Burbridge as the cast that helps round out the sounds.
