The rumors were true after all: Dead & Company will get back together for a series of 18 shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas this May and June! The venue revealed a stealie logo earlier this week before the band officially said it was coming (before anyone knew how many dates would be confirmed). Today we have the full story.
The Sphere residency will feature never-before-seen visual storytelling from Dead & Company, providing fans with the ultimate connection to the music through these innovative and immersive shows. Each weekend’s three performances will feature a unique setlist.
The band will be the third band booked at the venue so far, following U2 and Phish as the first three to ever blow their fans’ minds in such a way that the venue promises. I’ve got tickets for the Phish run and will probably need to add a three-night Dead & Co run to the mix now.
These shows will utilize Sphere’s next-generation technologies, including the world’s highest resolution LED display that wraps up, over, and around the audience creating a fully immersive visual environment. The venue also features the world’s most advanced concert-grade audio system, Sphere Immersive Sound, powered by HOLOPLOT, which delivers audio with unmatched clarity and precision to every guest.
