The Dave Matthews Band concert tonight in Orange Beach, Alabama at The Wharf Amphitheater has been cancelled.
Bummer! Why?!
Uhm, this storm you can see in the video below…
That beast is called Alberto. Here’s the full message from the officials posted…
The Governor of the State of Alabama has issued a state of emergency regarding the impending Subtropical Storm Alberto. We have been in contact with City of Orange Beach officials regarding their storm preparation and with the public’s safety as our primary concern, Dave Matthews Band [on] May 27 at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach, Alabama is being postponed due to impending severe weather.
Thankfully they got the news out early, and even better news is that they’re planning to reschedule and more information will be announced early next week. “Please hold on to your tickets,” they say. Phew.
The band will have tonight and tomorrow off before they head to Mississippi to play a show in Brandon. They’re still getting their groove given that this is the first time they’re out on the road without Boyd Tinsley, who’s currently in the midst of a sexual harassment allegation from a former music student of his. Really crazy times we’re living in.
Check out their current list of dates here and follow along with the tour updates we post here.
