Dan Deacon & Wham City Friends | Round Robin Tour

Known to take hard left turns when it comes to the live music experience, Dan Deacon is at it again. This time around I think he may have outdone himself, which is saying a lot if you’ve ever seen him live. Deacon will take over 60 musicians out on the road for what he is calling the Baltimore Round Robin Tour.

Baltimore has become a bit of an indie artist haven in the last few years and its spokesman may just be Dan Deacon. I am definitely way excited to see how this sounds and looks. I have never experienced anything close to this but that’s usually the case when I go to see Dan Deacon.

Before you begin to imagine how fun the tour bus will be, here’s how the concerts are going to work. Deacon has set up two different groups of performers — Eyes and Feet — who will take on different nights of the tour. Each group is set up to stimulate the body part for which they are named. There is also a “Weird Round” group that will play randomly both nights and doesn’t fit into Deacon’s branding. All groups are from “Charm City”.

Each night the designated group will set-up along the walls of the venue and each band plays one song then passes the torch to the next band. When each band has played a song, that’s a round. Where’s the audience you may ask? They’re in the middle of all this — insanity. Though I’m not huge on his music, Deacon may be a evil genius when it comes to creative concert ideas.
