The Coachella Music & Arts Festival’s first day is in the books and if our twitter feeds are any indication it was a pretty solid opening with Johnny Marr, Divine Fits, a very impressive performance by Alt-J, Passion Pit, Local Natives, Of Monsters And Men, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur, Foals, The Stone Roses, and a midnight performance from Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels. Oh, and the debut of a two-minute trailer for Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” on the jumbotrons. The best thing about not attending the festival (besides staying out of the heat) is we’re able to turn the event into Couchella starting at 3:30 PST each day, with HD-quality streams across three different channels. Coachella and YouTube have really hit a homerun with the service, branding Coachella around the world with extensive online coverage that no amount of advertising can buy. This is the third year in a row the two have partnered in offering what fans have dubbed #Couchella.
