We’ve seen many creative vaccination incentives recently, with President Biden recently offering free beer and sports tickets to encourage people to get the Covid-19 vaccine. According to Billboard, the city of Chicago is giving out over a thousand free one-day tickets to Lollapalooza at testing sites on June 26th.
The testing sites will also feature DJs playing songs from Lollapalooza artists as well as merchandise giveaways. A representative for the festival said “Lollapalooza has called Chicago home for the past 16 years, and we truly love this vibrant city. We are pleased to partner with and support the City to encourage vaccinations.”
Lollapalooza will happen July 29th to August 3rd. The lineup includes the Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus, Tyler the Creator and Post Malone. The festival was canceled in 2020 because of Covid-19, but this year it will be at full capacity, though they require attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result.
Those who are already vaccinated might be disappointed, but the Chicago Department of Public Health is also offering tickets via this website.
Cities, states, and other governments are getting creative in incentivizing people to get vaccinated. Whether by offering beer, sports tickets, or festival passes, Americans have many reasons to go get their Covid-19 shot.
