The lineups for the Bonnaroo 2014 Superjams have been announced. Both of them are siiiiiiick but for entirely different reasons.
Derek Trucks will be hosting a Superjam to start the weekend on Friday night, with his lineup featuring some serious heavy-hitters like Chaka Khan, Taj Mahal, Eric Krasno, James Gadson, David Hidalgo and Adam Deitch. Also joining them will be Andrew Bird, Susan Tedeschi, Ben Folds and more. It all goes down in That Tent at Friday at midnight.
Skrillex will be joined by Big Gigantic as the main rhythm section, and they’ll be joined by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Chance the Rapper, and Zedd, all previous collaborators with the alien-king of dubstep, but the big surprises will be that Mickey Hart, Janelle Monae, Warpaint (!), and Thundercat will all be involved somehow. They also promise the always relevant “AND MORE” designation meaning that we haven’t seen the full list of artists that will be there. The Other Tent is hosting the madness on Saturday night at midnight.
Finally, the Bluegrass Situation Superjam (hosted by Ed Helms) will be featuring The Lonesome Trio, Dierks Bently, Sarah Jarosz, Lake Street Dive, The Black Lillies, Shovesl & Rope, The Lone Bellow, Robert Ellis, Della Mae, Bryan Sutton and Dave Johnston (Yonder Mountain String Band). It basically closes the festival on Sunday at 8pm in That Tent.
