The Bonnaroo Music Festival continues to make some interesting changes and adjustments for 2007.
They’ve just announced that they’ll be adding a Jazz tent (called the “Somethin’ Else” tent) sponsored by classic jazz label, Blue Note Records. The tent will host this year’s jazz performers, including some more classic jazzers like Stefon Harris, Ravi Coltrane, Robert Glapser, and Jacky Terrasson. Also…
DownBeat magazine will present panel discussions on jazz June 15-16 with jazz musicians and others who will discuss legends such as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane. Blue Note Records will sponsor the air-conditioned jazz tent, called “Somethin’ Else.” Photography from the label will be on display.
Whoah! An air-conditioned Jazz tent? Guess that Blue Note sponsorship really helps! That sounds like a nice way to cool out after the hot madness of an energized rock set. Man, Bonnaroo is really poshin’ it up this year with these sponsorship deals. They’ve also announced that theyll have showers hosted by Garnier Fructis. No more excuses, you dirty hippies.
