On the Dead & Company night off down at this year’s Playing In The Sand, Goose got the nod to play the main stage set for the headlining time-slot. It was teased pretty hard during the day that we could see a special sit-in, especially once we knew that Bob Weir and Rick Mitarotonda were busy getting their sweat on. And that’s exactly what happened during the band’s first set.
Goose came on and opened with “Hungersite” before welcoming Bob Weir later in the set. For the sit-in, the rest of the band left the stage and Bob and Rick delivered an acoustic version of “Peggy-O” which you can see below.
When the band returned they finished off the set with Bobby joining for their spin on The Beatles psychedelic classic, “Tomorrow Never Knows,” and the classic “Hard to Handle.”
Dead & Company picks back up tonight with their second show from the beach. Check out the setlist from Night #1 here.
