I have to say that I’m quite a lucky man to be living in Chicago right now. Not like there aren’t enough summer festivals in the city, not counting all the gay festivals even. That’s the subject of a completely different post. After the annoucement of Lollapalooza and their huge boost by selling 2,000 tickets at $35 only, you’ve got to be excited. $35 for a two-day festival in the heart of Chicago’s Grant Park. How stupid am I for not getting tickets, considering Widespread Panic has actually already annouced that their headlining even before Lollapalooza announced it. I’m sure I’ll end up going, and I hope to have some coverage of the upcoming artists announcements once they have them up.
Not that Lollapalooza isn’t enough, they’ve announced one very sweet looking tour that will surely not disappoint anyone that likes jambands. The Big Summer Classic. This is one great looking lineup. String Cheese Incident. Umphrey’s McGee. Keller Williams. Michael Franti and Spearhead. Yonder Mountain String Band. Red Rocks. Mars, Bitches!
Seriously though, this looks unbelievable. Oh wait, they’re playing in Chicago. Oh wait, they’re playing in Schaumburg?!?!?!?!
