The Beastie Boys Story documentary was announced recently, a Spike Jonze production based around the live shows that Mike D. and AdRock did promoting the Beastie Boys Book. AppleTV+ gets the credit for bringing this one to market, and they’ll be airing the film in IMAX theaters for a brief period before rolling it out to streamers worldwide.
The first “Official Sneak Peek” trailer has been posted which gives a sense of what it may look and feel like. The shot of the three bandmates that opens the clip is especially poignant for me, as I still miss MCA big time and will always be thankful for the rhymes and joy this band provided to me. Love his wife-beater look.
