Just two days before it was set for an official release (online and in select record stores), Arcade Fire’s “Reflektor” has hit the web. Normally we’d just wait for the high-quality recording but the energy surrounding this release is on par with Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and we just couldn’t help ourselves. Not only does “Reflektor” live up the hype, it surpasses it. David Bowie lends his vocal talents, James Murphy produced it, and well the whole 7+ minute track is dripping in disco. Listen now before it’s taken down. View the official video here.
UPDATED 9/9/13:
*Based on the iTunes store tracklisting it appears Reflektor will be a DOUBLE ALBUM.
*You can now “interact” with the song using a Chrome Browser at JustAReflektor.com
*Arcade Fire will be the musical guest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, September 28th. Tina Fey will host.
*They will play a small just-announced show in Montreal on Monday (9/9) at Salsaetque. Only 100 tickets will be available at the door. Folks are already lined up according to @ArcadeFireTube
Check out the official map to see if “Reflektor” will be available in your neighborhood on 9/9 at 9pm. If not, don’t worry @ArcadeFireTube says the track will definitely be available online along with a Anton Corbjin-directed music video to go alongside. The whole album drops on October 29th but we have a feeling you won’t have to wait that long.
