I’ve got time for a quick post this morning before I head back downtown Austin to begin the Music portion of the SXSW 2007 conference. I regrouped last night and spent some time chillaxing back here in my hotel room, planning my schedule methodically, writing down notes that will serve as my would-be calendar for the next five days or so, etc.
I’ve extremely interesting in a few things coming up: The Rapture tonight at La Zona Rosa, Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo screening on Friday, and the JamBase showcase featuring West Indian Girl, Electric Apricot, and JJ Grey and Mofro on Saturday night.
Speaking of West Indian Girl, a band that I was told to get into a long time ago — they have finally clicked with me. I took a sample of some of their mp3’s and I’ve been listening to them ever since, so I hope to catch their set Saturday night and report back. Check out their full-length video for “Hollywood” here.
It looks like they’ll be one of the bands at All Good 2007, a festival that released their lineup late last week. It truly has all the usual, hippie-jamband festival suspects. Someone from the Dead, moe., Keller, Michael Franti, a band that covers the Dead, etc. Looks oddly familiar, doesn’t it?
“Walther Productions is excited to announce the initial lineup for the 11th annual All Good Music Festival and Campout. The festival will take place July 13-15 and will include three full days of music and camping situated on the luscious, rolling green fields of Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, West Virginia.”
