Our friend Patrick Hagen will be hitting up night three of the upcoming Soulive run in Denver that they’ve dubbed as Snowlive; check out his preview of the weekend below…
Coming off one of their most exciting years yet, Soulive kicks off their three night “Mini-Festival” dubbed Snowlive at Boulder’s Fox theatre tonight. The Brooklyn based soul-funk band has had an amazing year of music and collaboration and now sets it’s sights on Boulder for three nights of workshop and music. The event will include three consecutive nights of music (2/17-2/19) paired with back-to-back daytime workshops Saturday and Sunday (2/18-2/19). The workshops will be free of charge (that’s right FREE) and will give fans a chance to learn from the pros first-hand some of the industry secrets.
The band’s intimate discussion style workshops puts the artist at eye-level with their fans and will focus on topics like songwriting, improvisation, and audio engineering. Pre-registration is required by 6PM on 2/17 and can be done by e-mailing name, workshop #, and desired number of attendees to freetix@foxtheatre.com.
On top of a priceless chance at learning from the masters, Soulive’s three night concert series promises to be some of the funkiest jams this town has seen in some time. The band will be pairing up with special guests JJ Grey and The Hartswick Horns, but if that wasn’t enough, they’ll be finishing up Sunday with a Beatles tribute night from their 2010 album Rubber Soulive. The funk storm that is Snowlive will be three days of absolute musical bliss that any true fan of
music or production wouldn’t miss for the world.
