ONE Musicfest Takes Over Atlanta This October

Approximately 32 million people in the U.S. attend at least one music fest each year, making live music a key part of how Americans celebrate, connect, and escape. For music fans, the summer is all a stage—but some festivals are worth waiting for. ONE Musicfest is one of those events. This fall, Atlanta is preparing for an epic musical homecoming as the festival returns to energize the city on October 25–26, 2025. Piedmont Park will come alive with the sounds of hip-hop, R&B, soul, and more, drawing tens of thousands of fans from across the nation.

The festival isn’t cheap — the starting ticket price in 2024 was around $220, and with major headliners expected, 2025 likely won’t be an exception. Still, many fans can’t miss it. Some plan their trip months, while others prepare closer to the date — they find deals, split costs with friends, or get a quick cash loan for Atlanta fest to make the weekend happen. After all, for many, it’s not just a concert — it’s the highlight of the season.

An Atlanta Music Festival Like No Other

Jason “J” Carter launched ONE Musicfest in a parking lot back in 2010.  It is now the biggest two-day urban music event of the Southeast, which attracts over 50,000 admirers who represent various regions across the country. Despite the increase in size, the event is still steeped in the music and culture of Black people. And according to Carter, ONE Musicfest is a ray of black happiness that can integrate all of us to experience the sound and vibe of the city of Atlanta.

ONE Musicfest is a time-traveling festival. Performers of the OMF stage have included Janet Jackson, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, Outkast, Jill Scott, Gucci Mane, and Lauryn Hill. You could see old school funk in one stage and the other bursting out with new hip-hop or laidback R&B. The combination unites all the people stammering millennium dancing side-by-side with the boomers and zoomers sharing that same energy.

ONE Musicfest was founded and guided by purpose. It has the slogan of unity through music. On the one hand, as founder J. Carter has stated, the objective was not solely to sell tickets but to provide a safe environment in which to enjoy Black music, Black food and Black culture since day one. That vision made a money-losing passion project turn into a juggernaut that to this day attracts over 100k people to Piedmont Park annually.

One Music Fest 2024 Recap: A Milestone Year That Raised the Bar

The 2019 edition of the ONE Musicfest raised a question as to why this event is a cultural staple. The 2024 lineup was an all-star lineup with Cardi B, locals Atlanta Gunna, Jill Scott, Victoria Monet, and legends such as legends like Earth, Wind & Fire. The 15th anniversary of OMF brought a variety of sets and a crowd that has made history, as we proved to be the biggest crowd to come to the event.

To meet the increased audience and provide more space, better separation of the sound between the stages, and space where food trucks, merch tent, and art installations could be, the move to Piedmont Park in 2024 also assisted. It was the event that established a new bar at the festival, which fans would love to see in 2025, and exceeded the previous records.

Upon entering the place, it is extremely cordial and people are very welcoming, like any other huge crowd. Do not take anything of too high a value, and also know your limits when it comes to alcohol. Significantly, watch out for each other, monitor one another, and in the event that you see that somebody seems to be in a situation of need, inform the staff.

The Impact and Legacy of One MusicFest

Atlanta’s culture and economy are heavily affected by ONE Musicfest. OMF has made Atlanta a world-renowned music hub to showcase black talent and creativity. And it is frequently referred to together with the other Atlanta festivals, like the Music Midtown or the Atlanta Jazz Fest. OMF is at the helm in terms of diversity. Its programmes include artists of color, female artists, and a great variety of styles, which have now become the case study of other festivals.

The festival is a massive injection of life into the city on an annual basis, economically speaking. The result is local economic activity of millions of dollars generated by ONE Musicfest. Similarly, a city music festival in Philadelphia attracted about $600,000 from the local music industry in addition to giving a hundred thousand dollars worth of education programs. The level in Atlanta is probably even greater, even though the numbers of OMFs are not reported publicly. Seasonal employment is also generated at the festival for the staff, the security, the food truck owners, artisans, etc.

The most lasting impact of ONE Musicfest is that it left its own mark on the history of music in Atlanta in the 21st century. Atlanta is already a music capital, and OMF has already been a marquee platform. It is one festival where you can be lucky to see a once-in-a-lifetime tribute. This is also the place where artists such as Summer Walker or Ari Lennox gave concerts in the early phases of their careers and earned thousands of new followers.

OMF is also trying new methods to remain fresh and interesting with all these young people joining the party with Gen Z. The younger fans particularly watch out for live events that, in fact, Gen Z to the highest concert spend. They do not just appear, but in many cases, they strain their budgets to have a share of the experience. The team of the festival, in the meantime, listens, adapts, and evolves to serve the energy of the expanding and increasingly broad-based audience.

ONE Musicfest 2025 promises to be a spectacle of music and unity in the heart of Atlanta. If you love live music, culture, and the idea of “the greatest homecoming on Earth”, then Piedmont Park is the place to be this fall. Get ready to sing, dance, eat, celebrate, and make some memories!
