Earlier this year, I picked up a copy of the The Secret Machines’ Now Here is Nowhere and was completely floored–easily one of the best albums released in the last couple years, in my opinion. I actually kicked myself a couple times for not picking up the album when it had come out during 2004. Do yourself a favor and buy it from Amazon right now. Do it.
We’ve heard that they’re planning on following up that release with the album, Ten Silver Drops, and I’m hot on the trail to find some more info on the release (above and beyond the preview thoughts and the tracklist).
We’ve got the first single for your samplin’ purposes, and all I can say is that I am damn psyched for this full album to come out. I’ll write up my thoughts as soon as I can get it.

From myselfmyself…
Eventually the song slows, breaks, and explodes into a 2-minute proggy jam session sans vocals, before returning to the main theme albeit with more force and a fuller sound. When all is said and done the sounds buzzes out near the 7-minute mark, and I’m starting to hear where this album is heading, maybe what it’ll be comprised of. If its any indication, Ten Silver Drops could prove to dodge the sophomore slump that so many other bands fall victim to
To me, right about 4:00 minutes in or so, this proggy jam session (which we all know I love so much, re: Umphrey’s) sounds slightly more U2 than I would say prog. Maybe I just need to listen to it more…
