Yet another festival mainstay that we’ve neglected thus far in 2008: the High Sierra Music Festival. Don’t worry HSMF, you still have a place in our hearts. This year, HSMF is slated for July 3 – 6, 2008, in Quincy, CA, and the lineup includes:
Bob Weir & RatDog
Gov’t Mule
Michael Franti and Spearhead
Built To Spill
Mike Gordon
Railroad Earth
Charlie Hunter Trio
The Slip
…plus many more (after the jump)
Although the region is starting to flesh out some larger festivals, HSMF has been a staple Northern Cali festival for years (this will be its 18th incarnation). Its always got a distinct Northern Cali/PacNW representation, with some solid national acts. This lineup is no exception, although we find it a little bit predictable with such festival standards like Gov’t Mule and Michael Franti. Of course, some might see this as part of the festival’s ongoing charm….HSMF is a classic festival with classic festival bands.
That said, there is one nice surprise. It’s great to see Mike Gordon getting out on tour this summer. Anybody know what Gordo’s got in store for us this year?
