The three guys from Sebadoh hadn’t played together in years, not since a falling out between the band members which left member Eric Gaffney incommunicado with the group for over a decade. Despite successful reunion tours in 2002 and 2003, the press expressed some concerns that the three rockers were just a bit too past their prime to put on a good live show together.
Those concerns were unwarranted. Having seen Sebadoh perform last week as a part of the Noise Pop festival in San Francisco, I can say first-hand that time and distance have done nothing to diminish the stage presence of this band. Changing instruments and stage positions throughout the show, all three performers put their all into their set, blending short high-energy songs with longer instrumental attention to create a full show worthy of absolute rocking out.
