Anyone who’s ran around the Big Easy during the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival knows that much of the live music magic to be found gets cookin’ hours after the Fairgrounds are cleared out. Traditionally, each club around town has a packed slate throughout the eleven-day music marathon, most with multiple shows on the docket per night featuring artists appearing at the Fairgrounds and those just stopping in to be a part of the glorious happening.
Down in the Quarter on Decatur Street, House of Blues is always a must-stop during Fest and earlier today, @HOBNOLA released (most of) this year’s lineup – boasting an impressive list of artists including Greensky Bluegrass, Foals, Robert Randolph, George Clinton and tons of homegrown favorites. The “Fantastic Four” lineup of Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars), Adam Deitch (Break Science), Eric Krasno (Soulive) and Cochema Gastelum (Dap-Kings) is bound to be one hot ticket and the 2 am start time up in the Parish Room ensures that all rulebooks will be thrown out the window.
Finally, keep an eye on the Twitter feed above for a potential additional announcement of the annual 2 am Saturday (actually Sunday) Superjam in the Parish Room – those shows (usually featuring George Porter Jr.) are always some of the hottest live music events of the year…nationwide.
