Phish played their first of three nights at UIC Pavilion last night and tore the roof off a steamy indoor arena show right in the middle of summer. Me and @PeteLikesPhish were raging this one hard with a 6:55am flight from SFO to ORD, a lunch at Revolution Brewery in Logan Square, and a roll through the lots and a hangout session with some local dudes kind enough to share their shade and cooler space with us pre-show. It was a fantastic start to the night.
This show is an absolute must-listen front to back. The energy in the room was palpable and perspirational; everyone was sweating, smiling, hugging and slapping High-5’s with strangers. My text messages were filled with jealously and joy all at the same time.
