Phish posted an official video for one of the highlights of the summer tour so far…a nearly half-hour version of “Down with Disease” from Friday night’s show at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, MI. If you haven’t already checked this out, go grab some popcorn and sit back and enjoy:

They settle into some really nice ambient territory about halfway through this one, eventually hitting on a theme and rhythmic cadence reminiscent of John Coltrane’s epic “A Love Supreme” (albeit in a very different key).
Good times. It’s really nice to see them stretching things out a bit to flex the improv chops. More like this please.
