The Disco Biscuits just capped off a Winter/Spring Tour that many fans feel was one of their strongest and most consistent tours in the last few years. The band also finalized plans for the eighth incarnation of their signature music festival, Camp Bisco, which takes place July 16-18, returning again to the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York outside of Albany.
As in years past, the Biscuits have pulled together a solid lineup of bands and DJ’s that tend towards electronic dance music but include plenty of exceptions to that rule:
Camp Bisco VIII Lineup (thus far):
Disco Biscuits – All 3 Nights; Nas & Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley; STS9 (2 nights); DFA Disco Tent; Twisted Records All Star Tent; Chromeo; Dr. Dog; K’Naan; The Orb; Shpongle x 2(Simon Posford vs Raja Ram); Younger Brother; Special Disco Version James Murphy & Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem; Flying Lotus; Pretty Lights; EOTO; Holy Ghost; Orchard Lounge; John Brown’s Body; Telepath; Boombox; Martyn, BioDiesel with KJ Sawka; AC Slater; Phantogram; MO2; DJ Haitian; Fort Knox Five; Kill the Noise; Prometheus; Ott; Starkey; Bluetech; Indobox; Roots of Creation; Joe Nice; Tuphace; Otherwise; and Dirty Paris. More artists and festival details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets on sale now for $145 and are available online at www.campbisco.net and 1-800-594-TIXX, as well as at all FYE stores in New England and select outlets in New York state. VIP packages will be made available for an additional $225 per 3 day ticket purchase.
The band is not only doing a full-fledged summer festival on the East Coast, they’re also expanding on their previous summer excursions in the Rocky Mountains, creating a bigger version of “Bisco Inferno” by headlining Red Rocks with a number of supporting acts, including: Paul Oakenfold, Lotus, DJ Z-trip, the New Deal, RJD2, and Orchard Lounge.
After seeing this band a ton of times in the early 2000’s, it’s honestly nice to see them consistently putting on their own festivals, playing bigger (and more consistent) shows, and generally getting a bit more professional in their overall approach. They’ve recently signed on with Red Light Management; DMB, Phish, and many more. It’s really been a big year for the band so far, and it appears that they’ll be continuing that trend…
In other Disco Biscuits news, several of the band members will be spreading themselves around over the next two months with a number of notable side projects. The news from DiscoBiscuits.com:
