is rolling through Los Angeles today to play the infamous Dodger Stadium. As always, the Grateful Dead guys have a storied history with Los Angeles and the trio joining them of John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge have been delivering all tour to high praise. With the heat in LA today, tonight should be an interesting show. Hopefully nobody cools off too much.
Last night’s show in Chula Vista was definitely a confident delivery, although probably not one that will break into the Top #3 of the Summer Tour. As for tonight’s show, the band takes the stage shortly after 7pm. Follow along with the setlist below as it rolls in.
Set I: Playing in the Band > Bertha, Jack Straw, Big Railroad Blues, Peggy-O, Ramble on Rose, [Technical Issues], Cumberland Blues, Deal
Set II: Sugar Magnolia > Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain > Althea > Eyes of the World > Drums > Space > Stella Blue > Sunshine Daydream
Encore: Brokedown Palace > Not Fade Away
Set I was almost cut short, Bob Weir came over the mic and said that they were having some power issues on stage and that they needed to take a break. Then Bobby told about a five minute joke, none of it really landing well. Then John Mayer said “now I’ll play some of my song ‘Your Body is a Wonderland’ haha” before launching into “Cumberland Blues”. After “Deal” Bobby said they’d be back in a short bit and that they’d fix the electric difficulties.
