Umphrey’s McGee is in the midst of a summer supporting their new album, Similar Skin, and this past Fourth of July weekend they invaded Colorado for a two-night run between the Boulder Theater and Red Rocks. In the most unexpected sit-in of the weekend, banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck joined the band and closed out the first set with a take of “Great American.” The song devolved into a freeform jam then emerged as the obscure Beatles track “Baby You’re a Rich Man.” [via]
