Here’s a small guide to all the great Langerado stuff that’s been posted already. This definitely looked like a good time; it looks like the weather was really solid. The only thing I didn’t like was how the late night shows were offsite. It would have been cooler I think if the bands were still on the festival grounds, as freakiness most certainly would have ensued.

A Day in the Life: Hippies, Hippies Everywhere!!!
I had seen Umphrey’s several times prior to this experience, and this show was by far the weakest, and left me slightly disappointed.

Basically, this is more of a review for nitrous-huffing than anything else. One of the bummers of the scene, if you ask me. I guess I’m what Cartman would call a “college-know-it-all hippie”.

I meant no offense of course. I just got a good laugh when I read that.
A similar thing happened to us at Bonnaroo 2004. You can hear it and see evidence of the approaching nitrous-town before you see the tanks. It was funny. I was so dead tired on my way back from the Umphrey's McGee midnight set, and I couldn't believe that anyone would feel like doing that. The nitrous oxide is for the dentist's office only.
thank you very much for linking my blog. I didn’t do an all-out review of the music just to keep some of my non-jamband listening friends interested, but basically, I am a huge fan of Umphreys. I have seem them a bunch of times now, and each time prior to Langerado, I thought they totally rocked. I thought Langerado lacked inspiration. They just didn’t have “it” that night. The peaks were pretty tame in comparison to the other times I had seen them, and the improvisation was unfortunately lacking. I was with my friend who I went to tons of Phish shows with, and this was his first time seeing Umphrey’s, and he couldn’t get into it at all, which was rather unfortunate, as I am a huge fan. I tried finding reviews on the Umphrey’s bort, but people who went only commented on the other shows on the Southern run, and ignored Langerado. The only comments dealt with the fact that it was too short, and didn’t say anything good or bad. Makes me think that it wasn’t looked at too highly. Sorry for the long response, just wanted to explain my point of view on umphreys a little bit.
on a different note, your blog is amazing!! it’s awesome, I wish I knew this thing existed earlier. I see that you’re looking for people to write about live music, and I would love to do that. I go to a good amount of shows in the New York area, and some out of town. Tonight I’m supposed to be seeing the Allman Brothers, but ticketbastard cancelled all of the standing room tickets at the Beacon. I’m gonna try to go anyway and see what happens.
Anyway, thanks for the link in your blog! i really appreciate it. I just started this thing a couple weeks ago and it’s really cool to see people are reading it!

This was one of the better weekend’s I’ve had in my 26 years, and that’s saying something. Something about being in a field with 25 of the best bands going, all for a low, low retail price…what a trip. Great weather, perfect crowd, unbelievable music — what more can you ask for.
