I caught this quiet Google Search announcement the other day and I finally got a chance to mention it here: Google has officially added links for upcoming concerts to search results for bands and musical artists.

While this may seem like a pretty small change, anything that Google does to edit their search results ends up being a big deal just because of the sheer volume of searches that happen for artists each day. And since concerts have become such a key part of most band and artist revenue streams, it certainly makes a lot of sense and is a good move on Google’s part.

Here’s a sample image I grabbed from a search I did for Brothers Past:

I especially like how they added a little hover preview and an outline for the portion of the band’s website where the info originates. It’s a nice artist-friendly touch.
