Last night the Fourmile Canyon Revival went down and featured six hours of amazing music while raising over $300,000 for the benefit of the victims of the Fourmile Canyon Fire, the worst disaster in Colorado’s state history. It’s a devastating story that fire, but last night went far to revive the spirit of community within the region while getting everyone amped for the three-night Phish run that’s about to go down at the same venue. The reviews I’ve read make the show sound like a really solid live event that went off without a hitch.
More than anything else, the Fourmile Revival was pure fun. It was the kind of night that was Colorado in the way that Jazz Fest is New Orleans – even Trey said that Colorado is a second home for Phish – and makes people wonder why they don’t live there. Here’s hoping the energy from this night lingers around and helps those affected by the fire.
The stage was cleared, the lights were dimmed, and soon Big Red and Cactus were standing next to each other, acoustic guitar and acoustic bass in hand, respectively, playing the old standard acoustic Phish jams – Back on Train, Water in the Sky, Sample in a Jar, Train Song, Waste, Possum.
That’s not all they played.
Here’s a video with some footage of the scene and the good vibes coming out of the efforts:
Here’s the super jam moment of the night with everyone on stage for “I Know You Rider”…
Before all that, Trey sat in with String Cheese Incident for “Outside Inside” and “Rocky Mountain Way.”
Trey and Mike did some other stuff good stuff, too.
Got a video from the show? Drop it in the comments here and I’ll update the post. Phish Fall Tour starts tonight!
