Yet another new festival enters the arena. The first ever Mile High Festival will take place July 19th and 20th at the at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, (9 miles outside of downtown ). Headliners include and the breakers, Matthews Band, John r, , and .

We’ve heard some rumblings of a new festival for the area, so I guess this is the one. And it’s a lineup that should grab some national attention. I don’t get the sense that these headliners will drive a ton of interest from the jam kids or the indie hipsters, but those folks might take a look at the rest of the lineup and dig what they see. It’s an interesting strategy and might just pay off for a city-specific festival like this one.
