has just officially announced a solo band tour for 2014 along with the release of a new studio album called Overstep. A limited amount of pre-sale tickets are already available at Mike’s website so head over there right away to snatch up what you can. “The band’s new repertoire will be augmented by hints of secret synesthetic mad scientist gadgetry on and around the stage” — WOAH. On February 25, 2014, will release ’s new studio solo album, Overstep, on February 25, 2014. Overstep is Mike’s fourth solo album, following 2003’s Inside In, 2008’s Sparrow and 2010’s Moss. Beginning today, fans can stream “Ether,” the album’s opening track, at Album pre-order details will be announced shortly.

Mike shared songwriting duties with guitarist and longtime collaborator and handed over the producing reins for the first time in his solo career, enlisting Paul Q. Kolderie (, , ). He also invited a few new players into the studio, including legendary drummer (, ).

To celebrate the release of Overstep, Mike’s band will return to the road with a North American tour that will kick off at the Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, NY on February 28. The run will include shows at ’s Hall (March 1), the in Los Angeles (March 17) and the historic in (March 18) and the band’s first performance in , BC, Canada. He’ll be joined on the road by his longtime band – (guitar), (percussion), (keyboards) and (drums). The band’s new repertoire will be augmented by hints of secret synesthetic mad scientist gadgetry on and around the stage.
