Lollapalooza 2008 Schedule Released

The lineup for Lollapalooza 2008 has been locked and loaded for a while now, and they just announced the schedule. I had a feeling that they may be breaking up the schedule in a way that respected the fact that they had quite a mix of headliners on this bill, and from the looks of it they did a great job of respecting both sides of the would-be audience this year. This really looks solid and I would be going for the third year in a row had I not decided to move to San Francisco. I’ll be happy enough with Outside Lands and Treasure Island, but I will be paying attention to the Lollapalooza webcast on the weekend it’s happening.

Friday looks incredible; I’d probably go see Rogue Wave, Yeasayer, The Black Keys, The Raconteurs and then headliners Radiohead. Saturday is a bit tougher: Dr. Dog, Booka Shade, Devotchka, Explosions in the Sky, Battles and then Wilco OR Rage Against the Machine. That would actually be a tough one for me, but I’d opt for Rage considering I have never seen them live. Then on Sunday, when you’re tired, exhausted, and cranky, you’ll want to slow it down and chill it out a bit before you head back into work on Monday (if you were silly enough not to call that day off ahead of time). I’d start the day with The Whigs and plan on catching Brazilian Girls, Girl Talk, The National and finally Kanye West (even if he blew his Bonnaroo performance).

Battles vs. Broken Social Scene? Wilco vs. Rage Against the Machine? Funnel cake or sno-cone? Drop some comments if you’re going.
