As all of us in Colorado are aware, this coming weekend is 4/20, and with that comes a slew of concerts to celebrate the “high” holiday. If you were planning on attending the famed annual 4/20 smoke out on CU Boulder campus this year, I would advise against it. Unlike other years, the University is closing the whole campus to the public and closing Norlin Quad to everyone. “Those ticketed for trespassing could face up to six months in jail and a $750 fine — stiffer than penalties for being busted with small amounts of marijuana.” That being said, student organizers are spending $150,000 on a Wyclef Jean concert on campus instead. The event is FREE and for students only. If you’re not a student (or if you are), we’ve got some killer shows to go to instead.
DJ Shadow will be hitting up the Belly Up in Aspen this Thursday (4/19) in addition to joining Rusko and Paper Diamond at Levitate Festival at 1st Bank Center in Broomfield on 4/20.
Sexytime (MiM0SA & Sleepyhead), joined by Two Fresh will throw it down at Cervantes’ on 4/19
Barrington Levy, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Reggie Watts and many many more will be a part of Incredibowl’s 420 Extravaganja at City Hall in Denver on Friday.
No surprises in Cypress Hill’s appearance in Colorado this time of year. He’ll hit up the Ogden Theater on 4/20.
If you can’t make it to Levitate Festival, fear not, Nick Douwma, better known by his stage name Sub Focus is playing at Beta Nightclub on Friday.
