In a message just posted on Instagram, Janet Weiss has announced her departure from Sleater-Kinney. Citing “intense deliberation and with heavy sadness” she mentions that the band is heading in a new direction and it is time for her to move on.
She thanks Corin and Carrie for the time they all shared together and for “sustaining” her for the past 24 years. Sad news, she’s a rad drummer no doubt.
The band responded with their own note on Instagram obviously citing that they’re sad and that the decision wasn’t anything mutual or anything.
