Phish @ AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami, FL 12.31.14 by Jackson Haddad

Happy New Year, everyone! Hopefully you’re waking up today after a hazey good time on New Year’s Eve, and may your trip hangover be short!

Here are some things catching our attention today:

Phish played their first of four nights in Miami to ring in the New Year with a gag that involved Fish, his vacuum, and the phrase “suck to blow”.
Also check out the JamBase rundown and the #miYEMi hashtag on Twitter for a rundown from the fans there on the ground. Here’s a YouTube clip of the gag ahead of the band’s usual official release. If you’re in Miami for the run, don’t forget to check out our guide for what to do and see while you’re there.

Widespread Panic offered up a “Happy” medley last night including a bit of Pharrell‘s mega-hit as part of their three-set NYE show in Charlotte, NC.
They also gave tribute to Joe Cocker and Bill Withers.

Kanye West and Paul McCartney dropped the track they’ve been working on together right at the stroke of midnight.
The ballad is called “Only One” and is now available for download at iTunes.

Stevie Nicks joined Deer Tick on stage last night to close out their run at Brooklyn Bowl.

The first round lineup for Ultra Music Festival 2015 has been “leaked”.
