As we previously reported, the Green Apple Music & Arts Festival kicks off tonight, starting a long weekend of concerts and events in Chicago, New York , and San Francisco. The events are designed to raise awareness about climate change and celebrate Earth Day (on Sunday, 4/22).
Some additional shows were recently announced, including several add-ons to the free outdoor performances in New York. Recent additions include the following: Aqualung (Sat.4/21 @ the Park West), Ozomatli (Fri. 4/20 @ Grand Central Station, NY; free show), Zero (Sat 4/21 @ Grand Central Station, NY; free show), Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds (Sun 4/22 @ Radio City Music Hall, NY), and Willie Nelson (Thurs 4/22 @ The Fillmore, SF).
Here at the Live Music Blog Headquarters in Chicago, we’re gearing up for a big weekend of great live music and some much-anticipated beautiful weather. In terms of concerts, there’s really just too much to check out, so we’d love to hear from all of you out there in the Internet ether. Whether you’re in New York, San Francisco, or Chicago, definitely consider sending us your reviews, photos, or any other commentary related to this Green, tri-city “festival” thingy.
For the full listing of bands, I’ve included an updated city-by-city list after the jump…
