The Grateful Dead team is out today with a new project a bit ancillary to their usual releases of music from the archives. They’ve teamed up with tall man at the shows and Hall of Fame basketball legend Bill Walton and music supervisor David Lemieux for Fire On The Mountain, a film documenting some legendary athletes doing their thing set to music and vibes that any Deadhead would enjoy (extreme sports fan or not). You can stream it now via the Teton Gravity Research YouTube channel!
Here are some more details:
Narrated by Hall of Fame basketball player and television sportscaster Bill Walton with music supervision by archivist David Lemieux, Fire On The Mountain features some of action sports’ most legendary athletes: snowboarding’s Jeremy Jones, Danny Davis, Kimmy Fasani, surfing icon Rob Machado, and skiers Michelle Parker and Chris Benchetler. Captured over the course of the winter by cinematographer Tyler Hamlet, the visual journey features never seen before visual effects within nature and original artwork by Benchetler and Skye Walker. #deadandshred #fireonthemountain
