AFT has the news that Arcade Fire will play their first show of 2013 on February 23rd in Montreal. The concert will be part of the KANPE Kanaval Haitian relief fundraiser and take place at the PHI Center. Tickets for the event go on sale January 15th for $175. There are also $400 VIP tickets available which offer a meet-and-greet with the band. Details from the official site also mention Late Night events for $30 that include DJ Sessions with members of Arcade Fire and other special guests.
News of the show brings with it expectations the Grammy Award winners will play new songs from their forthcoming album rumored to be released at the end of this year. In December, Arcade Fire played a secret show as Les Identiks (Story) at Breakglass Studio in Montreal. There they played all new songs from their as-yet-untitled fourth album. No song titles or clips have surfaced because of the no-cell-phone policy that was strictly enforced by the band.
One must wonder if after February 23rd if we’ll have a few new AF songs to chew on? Let’s hope!
