Don’t Go To Burning Man Without Reading The 2017 Survival Guide

If you’re planning on attending this year’s Burning ManRadical Ritual — make sure you read up on the current Survival Guide.

This guide is essential reading for every participant — first-timers and veterans alike. If you’re looking for specific information, browse the menus above to find it, or search by keyword (RVs, trash, ice, bikes, etc.). Read this Survival Guide here or download a PDF (5 MB) of it to your device for offline browsing, so you can reference it (and things like “where do I take my trash?”) when you’re on the road to and from Burning Man.

I found the guide to be a very necessary part of my first time on the playa and it really is something you want to feel fully prepared for as you embark on your first time in the journey.

BLACK ROCK CITY is a temporary metropolis built in Nevada’s beautiful, remote, and inhospitable Black Rock Desert. You are responsible for your own survival, safety, comfort, and well-being, and for Leaving No Trace. This Survival Guide will help you thrive at Burning Man. Read it carefully and share it with everyone in your group. For more detail please see the Preparation section of the Burning Man website.

  1. Or even better, readers of this EDM music blog – don’t go to Burning Man. You won’t like it. Your default world celebrity DJs wont be there. Burning Man is not an EDM festival. It is an ART festival in a harsh environment where YOU are expected to bring everything, work hard, and share, not simply get high and dance. Real Burners don’t want you there, and you won’t be welcomed. Stay away EDM fans. You contribute nothing, take tickets from people who DO contribute, and you collectively trash our playa. Stick with Coachella, Instagrammers.
