I just got home from tonight’s Phish show down at Bill Graham and wanted to toss up the setlist before I crash out…
Here’s the official rundown from Phish.net:
Phish @ Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco 8/18/12
Set I: Runaway Jim, Wolfman’s Brother[1], Nellie Kane, Beauty of a Broken Heart, Ocelot, Maze, I Didn’t Know > 46 Days, Tube, When the Circus Comes, Sugar Shack, Split Open and Melt, Cavern
Set II: Golden Age > Piper > Mike’s Song > Simple > Backwards Down the Number Line > Carini > Wilson > Weekapaug Groove, The Horse > Silent in the Morning > Also Sprach Zarathustra > Fluffhead > Loving Cup
Encore: Show of Life, Character Zero
Here are a few of my quick thoughts: tonight first’s set was all about the “Wolfman’s Brother,” “Maze,” a really impressive but short “Tube,” the return of “Sugar Shack” (with Trey nailing the solo) and plenty of moments worthy of a re-listen. Set two started off a bit rocky until “Mike’s Song” and really took off with the “Simple” jam, even though it seemed to materialize oddly out of nothing and seemed like an effort to just make ambient music for a few moments where there was nothing in its place. It was beautiful and unexpected, though, and those are usually the best moments at a show anyway. The rest of the set seemed to flow a bit odd for me and seemed to want to end earlier than they actually pushed it to. “2001” could have ended the set easily if they stretched it a bit but they kept throwing in most “set closers” to keep us satisfied…
All in all it was definitely a fun show and can’t wait to finish off the run tomorrow night.
