We’ve got another big week in NYC live music on our hands. The Allman Brothers head into the final week of their annual Beacon run, the Black Keys head back to MSG for round II, Dr. Dog hits the stage at Terminal 5, and we’re celebrating Perpetual Groove’s return to Brooklyn Bowl with a free pair of ticket for one lucky LMB reader. Read on for details on the ticket giveaway and all of this week’s NYC concert highlights…

Perpetual Groove returns to Brooklyn Bowl this Saturday with Moon Taxi and Midnight Magic. To celebrate, we’re giving away a pair of tickets for the show to one lucky LMB reader, thanks to a nice little hook-up from our buddies over at P. Groove. All you need to do is share this post via Twitter or Facebook and tag LMB in the process, or email us at vibes at (just be sure to include “P Groove” in the subject line).

The Allman Brothers Band returns for the final stretch of shows for their annual run at the Beacon Theatre. Last week’s special guest sit-ins included Wilco’s Nels Cline, Bill Evans and Grace Potter. This week is bound to include a few more surprises.

The Wood Brothers bring their brand of funky acoustic soul to the Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday.

The Black Keys are back for round II at Madison Square Garden for their big arena rock show with Arctic Monkeys once again leading things off in the opening slot.

For some indie rock with a bit more of a traditional “indie” crowd size, Oberhofer is a solid bet. They’re playing the Bowery on Wednesday.

But for my time and money, one of the best rock shows these days is still Dr. Dog. They’re taking over Terminal 5 this Friday.

There’s also this killer little duo that makes amazing sounds with just some drums, guitars and a few loop pedals: El Ten Eleven. It looks like they’re in the opening slot for Deleted Scenes at Maxwell’s, which should definitely make for an interesting show.

We’ve also got two “friends of the site” shows happening this week.

For some straight-up old-timey bluegrass, check out Union Street Preservation Society at Union Hall, with LMB friend Alex Borsody on dobro duties.

Also, my buddy Cary has put together an interesting trio called The New Facility. They do a sort of patient, moody style of indie rock (perhaps a little reminiscent of Grizzly Bear). They’re hitting the stage at Piano’s this Friday.

But if you’re looking for more of a dance party atmosphere this week, you’ve got plenty of good options.

Grimes brings her one-woman synth show to Mercury Lounge.

Miike Snow is back on the scene in a big way with a sold-out show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.

The Juan Maclean will do a DJ set with a bunch of other folks at Cameo Gallery.

And then there’s this total disco throwback band, called Escort, playing Brooklyn Bowl with a 17-piece orchestra and trading sets with DFA DJs. Should be a serious dance party.

As you can see, things are definitely heating up this week as we head into the spring months, so those are just the top-line highlights as I see ’em. Read on for more shows and all the details everything above.
