Sled Island is pleased to announce the initial musical lineup for the Sled Island Music and Arts Festival at multiple venues throughout Calgary, Alberta. The full Sled Island 2010 festival lineup will be announced May 1st and will include more than 200 bands, films, visual art and other programming.
The festival is set for June 30th-July 3rd and there’s plenty to see on this lineup announced already.

Sadly the last band on the lineup may not be making an appearance following the horrible news that their drummer passed away after collapsing on stage during a show. So sad. Our thoughts go out with the family, friends and bandmates that he is leaving behind.
More about the festival…
Guest curators for Sled Island 2010 are King Khan, Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Fucked Up and local curators Adam Kamis and Kallen Law. The full festival will include more than 200 musical acts performing at 25+ venues, an independent film festival from June 24 – 29, comedy shows and art exhibits concentrated in the downtown and beltline areas of Calgary, Alberta. The main all-ages outdoor site will take place at Olympic Plaza (228 8 Avenue SE) July 2 from 4pm – 11pm and July 3 from noon to 11pm. Various free events will be happening around Calgary before, during and after the festival including an outdoor Kensington block party with the Market Collective on July 4.
General admission festival passes are now on sale for $170 (plus service fees) at www.sledisland.com. That’s $42.50 per day for all 4 days of music with guaranteed access to both days of main site programming. A very limited amount of guaranteed all-access VIP passes are available for $350 (plus fees). Main stage individual day passes and a handful of individual show tickets will be made available following the second and full festival lineup announcement on May 1st.
