One of my new favorite bands, Fleet Foxes, has been getting a lot of attention lately that I never really noticed until a friend recommended them to me. They’ve got a sound reminiscent of Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket; a bit folk, a bit rock, and a whole lotta vocal harmonies that pierce the soul.
They just finalized their summer tour dates, and they apparently just added a new member to the band, too. Maybe they’re picking up the buzz that us blogs are putting down, because this definitely seems like a move towards confidence in the project continuing forward. I predict a big year for these guys above and beyond what other bloggers have already predicted. They’ve got a slot at the Pitchfork Music Fest this summer, which is always a vote of confidence from the scene that these guys have a bright future ahead of them.
I really dig the sound myself, and I really think it seems to transfer well live. I haven’t seen them myself yet, but on the live recordings it comes off really well.
Read on for the tour dates. Who else is a fan like me?
