STS9 just announced a small, mini-festival bearing their name and set for July 6-7, 2007 outside of Asheville, NC at Deerfields. The band will be playing two sets each night, and they’ll be welcoming a slew of openers that you might not otherwise be familiar with…
STS9’s RE: GENERATION will be a unique celebration of music, nature, family, mind, body, and spirit. There will be an incredible amount of talent at Deerfields through out this very special weekend including Prefuse 73 and Telefon Tel Aviv, both performing full band sets. Also joining us will be Dubconscious, Glitch Mob, Collective Efforts, Lyrics Born, Natalie Walker, Kaptain Harris, Telepath, Grogus, Goddess Alchemy and more.
That’s one of the greatest things to me about STS9; they always bring solid openers or bands that have flown under the radar for a while. That is how I was originally introduced to Toubab Krewe; they were opening for STS9 at the House of Blues here in town. Given that there’s plenty of good music on that lineup that most of us aren’t too familiar with, and given how killer STS9 has been sounding lately (sample below) — this is a safe bet for a good weekend of live music in NC…
